California Privacy Notice

Effective Date: July 22, 2026

This California Privacy Notice supplements the Goodbirds Privacy Policy and applies to California residents. It explains how Goodbirds Coffee LLC, doing business as Goodbirds (“Goodbirds,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, retains, discloses, sells, or shares personal information and describes the rights available under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, collectively referred to as the “CCPA.”

This Notice applies to the extent the CCPA applies to Goodbirds and its processing of your personal information. Terms defined by the CCPA have the same meaning when used in this Notice.

If there is a conflict between this California Privacy Notice and our general Privacy Policy concerning a California resident’s rights under the CCPA, this California Privacy Notice will control.

We may disclose approximate geolocation information to Shopify, analytics providers, advertising partners, fraud-prevention providers, and security providers.

Goodbirds does not intentionally collect precise geolocation through the ordinary operation of its online store.

We retain approximate geolocation information for as long as reasonably necessary for analytics, security, fraud prevention, advertising measurement, and other disclosed purposes.

Inferences and Preferences

We may create or receive inferences concerning:

  • Coffee preferences

We may disclose this information to customer-support providers, ecommerce providers, marketing providers, social media platforms, professional advisers, and other providers that help us use the information for the disclosed purpose.

Goodbirds does not sell audio or visual information in exchange for money and does not ordinarily share this information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We retain this information for as long as reasonably necessary to address the related request, provide customer service, maintain authorized marketing content, resolve disputes, or comply with legal requirements.

Sensitive Personal Information

Goodbirds may process limited sensitive personal information, including account login credentials and payment information needed to complete transactions.

Complete payment card information is generally processed by Shopify or another authorized payment provider rather than stored directly by Goodbirds.

You may exercise this right by:

Right to Limit Sensitive Personal Information

California residents may have the right to limit certain uses and disclosures of sensitive personal information.

Goodbirds does not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that currently require a separate right-to-limit mechanism. If our practices change, we will update this Notice and provide the required method to exercise this right.

Right to Data Portability

You may request a copy of eligible personal information in a portable and, where technically feasible, readily usable format.

Right to Nondiscrimination

Goodbirds will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a right under the CCPA.

We will not, solely because you exercised a CCPA right:

  • Deny you goods or services
  • Charge you a different price or rate
  • Provide a different level or quality of goods or services
  • Retaliate against you
  • Suggest that you will receive a different price, rate, level, or quality of service

Goodbirds does not currently use automated decisionmaking technology to make significant decisions concerning a consumer’s access to or provision of financial services, housing, insurance, education, employment, healthcare, or other similarly significant services.

Goodbirds may use ordinary ecommerce automation for functions such as fraud screening, product recommendations, subscription management, advertising measurement, and order processing.

If Goodbirds begins using automated decisionmaking technology in a manner that creates additional rights or notice obligations under California law, we will provide the required disclosures and request methods.

You may submit a request to know, access, delete, correct, or exercise another applicable privacy right by:

  • Emailing privacy@goodbirdscoffee.com
  • Using the privacy request form or “Your Privacy Choices” link on our website, if available
  • Mailing a request to the address listed in the Contact Us section

Please describe your request and provide sufficient information for us to identify the relevant customer, account, order, subscription, or interaction.

You do not need to create a new customer account solely to submit a privacy request.

Before completing certain requests, we may need to verify your identity.

Depending on the request, we may ask you to confirm information associated with your account or transactions, such as:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your telephone number
  • Your billing or shipping address
  • Your order number
  • Other information reasonably necessary to verify the request

We will use information submitted for verification only to verify and process the request.

11. Authorized Agents

You may authorize another person or entity to submit a request on your behalf.

We may require the authorized agent to provide written proof that you authorized the agent to act for you. We may also require you to verify your identity directly with Goodbirds and confirm that you gave the agent permission to submit the request.

These requirements may not apply when an authorized agent has a valid power of attorney under applicable California law.

12. Response Timing

We will confirm receipt of requests to know, delete, or correct within 10 business days when required by applicable law.

We will ordinarily respond to a verified request to know, access, delete, or correct within 45 calendar days. When reasonably necessary, we may extend the response period by an additional 45 calendar days and will notify you of the extension and the reason for it.

Requests to opt out of sale or sharing will be processed as soon as reasonably feasible and no later than required by applicable law.

We do not ordinarily charge a fee to process privacy requests. We may charge a reasonable fee or deny a request if it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded, as permitted by law.

13. Global Privacy Control

Where required by applicable law, Goodbirds recognizes qualifying browser-based opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control, as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for the browser and device sending the signal.

You may need to enable the signal separately on each browser or device you use.

If you clear cookies, change browsers, use a different device, or are not logged into your account, you may need to submit the preference again.

14. Financial Incentives

Goodbirds does not currently offer a financial incentive or price or service difference in exchange for the collection, sale, sharing, or retention of personal information that requires a separate CCPA notice of financial incentive.

Goodbirds may offer ordinary discounts, promotions, subscription pricing, referral programs, giveaways, or loyalty benefits. If a program qualifies as a financial incentive under the CCPA, we will provide the required notice before you enroll.
